Description
Allium Fused Glass Dish by Mother & Daughter Glass. Inspired by the ocean around Cornwall. Available in two sizes. Small: 10cm x 10cm. Medium: 14cm x 14cm.
Allium Fused Glass Dish is inspired by the Alliums on display at The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Pentewan, Cornwall. The instantly recognizable tall stems and vibrant ‘pom pom’ blooms of these beautiful ‘ornamental onions’ bridge the gap between spring and summer.
Barbara & Kelly are Mother & Daughter Glass, and their love of their coastal surroundings and glass has blossomed into the handmade fused glass artwork that can be seen today. Since 2010 they have obtained City & Guilds Level 1,2 & 3 in Decorative Stained Glass, these qualifications encompass all aspects and styles of glass work, including leaded pieces, copper foil work, mosaic and of course fused glass.
They draw their inspiration from the natural world and being based in Plymouth, the sea plays a very big part in that. They try to capture the movement and ‘roll’ of a wave in their pieces and use different shades of glass to capture the light, shade, depths and mood of the sea; the use of frit (glass pieces/powder) gives texture to their sea inspired glass home-ware making them very tactile.
Due to the fragile nature there is a UK postage charge for this item.
