Sitting Pretty Oil Painting captures the view from below the water as a surfer waits for their next wave. Phoebe uses oil paints within her work which give her the depth of colour and the ability to reflect the changing colours of the water. Her work is powerful and bold but has a sense of freedom and fun that encapsulate the joy of being in and around the ocean.

Phoebe Pocock is an artist based in Cornwall. After spending all her family summers in Cornwall, she followed her Cornish ancestors in 2019 and made the North Cornish Coast her permanent home. During lockdown, Phoebe had the luxury of time to pick up her paintbrush once again and create unique compositions taking all her inspiration from Cornwall. Her work draws on the wild rugged coastline, the beautiful sandy beaches and the passion and intensity of surfing the ocean.

“There is nothing like the feeling of being in the sea and being able to create something from it. My paintings reflect action and style using dynamic brush strokes. They capture the amazing force of nature and the human figure navigating and riding the waves.”
