The beauty of this peace is in its calming simplicity. Mosaic doesn’t always have to be frantic and busy. Sometimes it doesn’t need many pieces to say a lot.

Bloom Handmade Diver Mosaic is made from shaped and smooth tile on a china/tile ‘moon’. Some are small saucers, a teapot lid or vintage 70’s wall tile carefully selected for their pattern.. Measures 32cm x 15cm.

About the artist:

Alison Turner has been creating mosaics professionally for 12 years, she often refers to herself as an ‘artistic recycler’ using broken, cracked or otherwise discarded imperfect materials to create unique and striking artwork.

Careful consideration is given to each and every piece used, the attention to detail on each cut adds to the overall flow so that rather than being fractured and frantic, her work is calming and restful to observe. The more you look the more you see. Painting her pieces with tile and glass, her peers have commented she makes the hard lines appear soft and gentle which is often unexpected in this medium.

Alison has artwork in collectors homes and gardens worldwide and has taken part in community fundraising events by mosaicing large scale sculptural pieces that have then been auctioned for charity. Last year her globe created for ‘The World Reimagined’ was part of an installation at Burning Man festival in Nevada, USA and she has previously exhibited in galleries in the UK and Italy.

Mosaics have been created for schools, colleges and businesses bringing her clients ideas to life in a medium that will last a lifetime and be a unique and eye catching talking point for years to come.

Alison said ‘What started as a hobby (or more accurately, my therapy) following a diagnosis of PTSD in 2013, this has naturally grown into a business and is such a huge part of my life that I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. The joy and peace constructing an image piece by piece very much feels like how I rebuilt my life piece by piece too. It not only gives me so much, I know my clients get so much out of it too and that is priceless”
