After 2024’s successful exhibition Joy Clifton is back with three new original paintings on canvas. These exclusive new paintings are one of a kind and showcase Joy’s love of the sea. Each piece captures the view from above Chapel Rock at different times of the day; morning, midday and sundown.

Golden Hour at Chapel Rock Perranporth captures that special moment before the sun sets and the beach is bathed in a golden glow. The painting features the beach at low tide with families still out enjoying the last of the sunshine. The sea is still buzzing with surfers and you can even spot some swimmers enjoying the sea pool in Chapel Rock!

Joy Clifton is a visual artist, who captures the fluidity of the ocean realm focusing on the movement of water, abstraction of light and exploring the sea creatures that inhabit this beautiful world. Having spent many years living by the ocean and travelling the world she draws on this inspiration. In her work there is an echo of conservation and she addresses current issues that are affecting the natural world. Joy works primarily in watercolour and acrylics depending on the subject matter.

Joy was part of The Surf Wood for Good charity auction in 2022 raising vital funds for Surfers Against Sewage‘s Ocean Activism. Joy painted her first wooden bellyboard for this fundraiser with the board proving very popular and sold quickly. Surf Wood for Good offers free wooden belly board hire as a positive alternative to cheap, environmentally-toxic polystyrene bodyboards that are so often discarded on beaches around the country.
