Last Light of the Day Perranporth Beach features the view looking out past Arch Rock to Chapel Rock. This painting captures the magic and atmosphere of this special beach at night. Diane’s inspiration comes from the landscape around her. She loves getting out on the beach and enjoying long coastal walks. This painting uses multiple layers and colours to create texture and various details celebrating the best of summer.

Diane Griffiths is an award winning contemporary British artist living and working in Newquay, Cornwall. Having worked most of her life in London she made the move to Cornwall several years ago which has allowed her to create a better work-life balance and allowed her to focus more on her painting which she loves. Her work has become hugely popular over the last few years with her work being collected across the UK. Diane is also winner of the People’s Choice Award 2024, The British Art Prize, Artists & Illustrators Magazine

Specialising in Cornish landscapes, Diane manages to capture them in her impressionistic style that involves a clever use of colour and texture. In addition to this Diane is most inspired by the vast open skies that stretch over the ocean. She enjoys capturing these awe-inspiring scenes on canvas.

Diane typically works on square canvases and uses a broad range of materials that include; oils, acrylics and enamels. As a result this wide range in materials allows her to play with colour and reflects the ever-changing landscape of Cornwall.
