Angela Herbert-Hodges

Angela grew up in a small village in the green rolling countryside of Cumbria. An idyllic place between the high peaks of the Lake District and the grey waters of the Solway Firth. She has lived and worked in London, Paris, Spain & Zimbabwe. Angela has recently departed from her home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, to live in beautiful Cornwall, England.

Angela’s mixed media paintings can include watercolour, acrylic and gouache paint to pastels and papers to create the various textures and layers in her work. Her most recent series of paintings take inspiration from the land and sea around Cornwall. The colours and shapes in her work reflect the atmosphere and feel of the places she paints.

Angela has been awarded signature membership in the Virginia Watercolor Society and invited to show in the Easton Academy of Art, the Ward Museum of Art, and winning an award in the National Collage Society, as well as being accepted into various US National Juried shows.

As well as painting Angela has excelled in catering as a Cordon Bleu Chef, & just left her Free-Lance Catering business in Maryland. She was also a competitive Fencer for many years, whilst in UK and later, winning two USA Women’s Veterans titles for Foil. She also represented America in a five nation competition.
