Rock Salt and Driftwood Hand Poured Candle features a mesmerising floral marine scent where refreshing notes of seaweed and green algae lie in cool rock pools enlivened by a fresh coastal breeze and enhanced by touches of cyclamen and water lily. At the base of the fragrance, sparkling salt crusted driftwood is warmed by amber, patchouli and musk.

Penny is the face behind A Little Peace of Cornwall and she absolutely loves making candles. The candles are made locally at Callestick, Cornwall. All the candles are hand poured in small batches from her home. As a result, her house always smells of a wonderful selection of fragrances!

“I really hope you will love my candles as much as I enjoy making them.” Penny finds making the candles a fascinating and complex process which belies a candle’s apparently simple constituents: Wax – fragrance oil – wick. But getting these things to combine in the right way takes a special kind of “magic” which involves many hours of experimentation and testing. The fragrances take inspiration from the Cornish coast and countryside and echo that special feeling you get when surrounding by the beauty of nature.

Getting The Best From Your Candle.
In order to ensure that you get the very best out of your candle, follow these simple rules: This is really important: on the first burn, always burn for 3 – 4 hours to ensure an even melt pool. Wax has a kind of “memory” and if you want your candle to burn effectively without tunnelling, then the first burn needs to be long enough for the wax melt pool to spread to the edge or close to the edge of the container. Place your candle in a draught free environment and on a heat proof surface. Never leave your candle unattended. If the candle starts smoking, extinguish it and trim the wick. Ensure the wick is upright, above the wax and central before the wax sets. Always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting to avoid smoking. Extinguish when 5mm of wax remains and do not relight. For safety sake, burn your candle for not more than 4 hours at a time.
